Chris has a Masters in Ministry from Otago University, a Bachelor degree in Applied Theology and a Diploma in Mission from Carey Baptist College

Karlene is a social worker with a Masters in Social Work, majoring in mental health and a Diploma in Community and Social Work from Otago University

Les Diack - retired teacher and business consultant,

Sarah Jean Burnett - registered nurse and been involved in missions in Banda Ache and Sri Lanka,

Roy Burnett - retired sheep farmer and involved in Mercy Ships in the Pacific

Bruce McDonald - dairy farming tutor. A Bachelor degree in teaching. Bruce is also our Treasurer

Ngaire Webster - Self employed architectual draughtsperson

Coffee:  10am – 2pm. Coffee, a chat and Christian books for sale.



Walking Group 10am. Group walking for fitness and friendship on the various tracks around Invercargill.

Arts and Crafts Group  1pm-4pm  Spinning and knitting group $5 per session



Weaving and crafts 9am – 2.30pm.  Learn to weave flax in traditional Maori style, learn to knit and make paper crafts (Summer time only)


FUEL kids   An activities based group for boys and girls for 5-10 year olds from 6-7.30pm during the school terms


Worship team practice night.  If you sing or play an instrument, come and join the team as they jam.



Wednesdays at Eastside: 10am – 1pm: Wednesday morning drop in and chat for the community. The morning concludes with a community lunch. The soup is made from produce grown and harvested from our community gardens. Donations for the meal accepted.


Nga Kete Matauranga Nurses here on the last Wednesday of each month for free health checks.


Jubilee Budgeting:  Has an office at church on Wednesday mornings for your budgeting help.  Either phone their office for an appointment or just turn up here.


Al-Anon  meets here every week from 7.30pm


Lean ADHD support group meets weekly for parents of children with ADHD



Catalyst Youth Group: 6pm – 8pm Activities based group for 11-14 year olds.



Community Gardens: 10am-1pm , a garden collective to grow vegetables for Soup ‘n’ toast, the gardening participants and the local community. It aims to develop people’s gardening and food processing skills so they feel confident to establish their own gardens.

Men’s friendship group 1pm  meets at various café’s around town



Waihanga Tumanako Matou:  Maori focused group, meets once a month for kai and korero 2pm Sundays.


Once a month Women’s Events:

There are events held throughout the year for the women of the church and community, under the name “Sister Act”. Past events have included a mid-winter Christmas dinner, ABBA night, dessert night, themed nights and attending various local women’s conferences.  Join Sister Act women’s group on Facebook for details of events.

There are a number of groups that meet. We call them Inspire groups. Please ask if you are interested in joining –

Wednesday 1pm at church;

Women’s fortnightly on Tuesday 3pm in Brown St;

Men’s Monday nights at 7pm at church,

Mixed Monday evening at 7pm in Brown St.


Sunday worship services


10.30am- 11.45am  (10am pre service prayer meeting)

Morning worship service. Kids church (18mths-4 year olds), Oasis (Sunday School for primary aged children) and Catalyst on Sunday (for youth) operates during part of the morning service.


7pm evening service on the first Sunday of every month
